أغلقت السلطات الأمريكية مبنى الكونغرس إثر اشتباك بين أنصار الرئيس المنتهية ولايته دونالد ترامب وقوات الأمن خارجه، اليوم الأربعاء، مع بدء جلسة لفرز أصوات المجمع الانتخابي وتأكيد اسم الرئيس الفائز ونائبه.
واشتبك أنصار ترامب مع عناصر الشرطة أمام مبنى الكونغرس خلال محاولتهم اقتحامه، مما دفع الشرطة إلى رش رذاذ الفلفل لإبعادهم وإجلائهم من المبنى.
وقبيل بدء جلسة المصادقة، خرج ترامب أمام أنصاره وأكد لهم أنه لن يستسلم ولن يعترف بخسارته الانتخابات. ثم توجه إلى جانب أنصاره للاحتشاد أمام مبنى الكونغرس قبيل بدء الجلسة.
فرض حظر التجول
إثر هذه التطورات الساخنة، أعلنت موريل براوزر، عمدة العاصمة الأمريكية واشنطن، فرض حظر تجول في المدينة. وأوضحت أن الحظر سيدخل حيز التنفيذ اعتبارا من الساعة السادسة مساء اليوم (بالتوقيت المحلي) وينتهي في السادسة من صباح غد الخميس.
